milestone

On wednesday afternoon I stepped onto the tram on my way home from work and for the first time ever I had three people jump up and offer me their seat....

It never happen when I was pregnant with Sami. I still remember having to ask a young guy if I could please sit when I was 36 weeks. Yeah I know it was in the middle of the winter and I was all bundle up so I probably looked more fat then pregnant. But the fact that Hameed had to practically push and carry my up the 3 steps onto the tram because I was so swollen in my legs I could not bend my knees should have clued people into that I might needed to sit down.

Anyway I guess I'm looking pregnant now and not just fat

You look great! I still remember riding the bus home during my first pregnancy at around 30 weeks. Like your experience it WAS winter so I guess that could have been the excuse but not one person offered me a seat. But when a woman with one leg got on the bus and nobody offered HER a seat, I knew some people just don't know how to be gracious.

You look fantastic, D!! Such a cute belly (enter sigh of nostolgia here)!!

Okay, I may be lame, but I still can't really wrap my head around the fact that "winter" to you is "summer" to us in the Northern Hem. So when you teach children the seasons, do your pictures have people in bathing suits under sun umbrellas for the winter and warm clothes for the summer? I feel like someone misinformed me when I was young and I still have the same juvenille beliefs...please correct me if I am wrong!! LOL!!

hehe lisa you seem a bit confused yes. Summer is from dec 1 - march 1, picture for summer would be someone wearing a sunhat (sunprotection is HUGE here) and swim suit.

Winter is mostly rain as even though it feels freaking cold (yes even for me growing up in Norway) it really do not get below 10 degrees much during the day so it is not cold enough for snow.

Winter is from june 1 to sep 1.

But then I live in Melbourne and it seems like someone did not get the memo about seasons here. We had hail storm just 2 days ago follow with 2 days of 30 degree weather..

Mostly I'm alright with this opposite seasons. specially now at Christmas time. It do not feel like real Christmas so it makes it a bit easier being away from my parents.

Ah, so it's the DATES of the seasons that are different, but the general descriptions are the same, LOL! Thanks for clearing that one up for me, D!!

*hugs* It's good to hear that people are at least being respectful. Jake has has to chew people out for not getting up for someone elderly. This picture made me smile.
